Tombstone.
This evening I walked over to the hotel and saw Vic, Nhil, Ali and another man talking. I was stunned when Nhil announced, “Outlaws killed Sky and Tye.”
“We all choose the life we lead and I know the risks,” Ali shrugged.
“Best for who for what? What we talking about?” the man asked.
“What?!” I exclaimed, looking at Nhil.
“None of your damn business I am so sick of nosy people here,” Vic muttered.
“And? Welcome to Tombstone.”
“Just sick of it thats all.”
“Wrong place to be then rumour here spreads, fast.”
“Well then tell me, Vic. Who killed my partner and boss?” I asked, not really believing it.
“She is law, it is her business,” Nhil sighed and looked at me, holding his wounded leg. “Dom, Punk, Ace, Serenity, and Antia.”
“And that is all it ever is rumour. Not based on anything other then who is who’s friend,” Vic looked at me. “Domino and his crew. I am willing to be Tj is behind it as well.”
“Wait, something new happened?”
“TJ is an idiot with no sack...he was using their muscle to threaten me...now they gone, he ran away like the coward her is,” Nhil shook his head.
“Damn it... What happened?” I muttered.
“Dom is trying to kill Vic who is with child..” Nhil said. “I stepped in, he shot me down with punk.. Ansar came to help and they shot him down… When Sky came to town we went to arrest them, they all gathered together and was like a two-hour gun fight… Ansar, Sky, and Tye died. They got away.”
“Well, stop being a hero, and helpin the law. Won’t be getting hanged then,” the man laughed.
“Geez…” I sighed. “So I’m left alone then?”
“Kris still alive, not sure where he went though.. maybe after them, and dead now in some ally,” Nhil said and I sighed as he looked over at the man. “I don’t know you, you don’t know me… So shut up like you do.”
I looked over at Vic and said, “I’m sorry... Congratulations are in order.”
“Nah,” the man shrugged.
“Another man all talk, with no sack,” Nhil nodded.
“Thank you Trin, I wish is was on better terms you were finding out,” Vic said.
“You sir have an issue with man talk and sacks,” the man said.
“Well yeah... Guess I’m a lone wolf now,” I nodded.
“It’s an expression....you are the one acting like a child, and coming with immature responses,” Nhil shrugged.
“Hmm? What on earth are you talking about?”
“Now honey please,” Vic started.
“Never mind. You’re an idiot,” Nhil sighed and looked at Vic with a nod. “Yes dear.”
“Yeah. I’m the idiot!” the man laughed.
“Easy there, Nhil. Let’s try and be nice shall we?” I pleaded.
Vic kissed Nhil hard and then started to lead him out of the area but then a man walked over and looked at Nhil. “Hello there, Cavdog. Remember me? Yeah kiss him good. It’ll be the last time he’ll be conscious for a while.”
“You brave coming here, without your army,” Nhil stood and moved Vic out of the way, pulling out his gun. “You’re under arrest.”
“Don’t try anything stupid,” I looked at the man, putting a hand on my gun.
“You’re brave or stupid…” the man said.
“Alright you two…” I said as I pulled my gun out, seeing Nhil draw his. Suddenly Nhil shot the man down right in front of me.
“Arrest him!!! That asshole just drew and shot me and I didn’t even have a weapon out!” the man shouted, injured.
“All talk fool..you under arrest for murder of Sheriff sky, Deputy Tye, Marshall Ansar, and attack on US soliders,” Nhil said, taking some cuffs from his belt and binding the man as he took away his guns, knife, and anything that could be used as a lock pick. I let Nhil do his work, seeing it was under his right as a soldier.
“You have no proof of that,” the man said.
“I see it with my own eyes...and you bragged about it in clinic.”
“Bull.”
“Trin can you lock him up in Jail?” Nhil asked me.
“I was the first person who got shot down in the fire fight. I couldn’t have done it,” the man said.
“Let’s go,” I nodded, following Nhil and the man to the cell.
Suddenly I heard Peta shouting, “HE’S DEAD?!?!?!”
“Aren’t you just a picture of the corrupt lawman?” the man asked me. “The man draws and shoots me and you stand there and let it happen.”
“You walked right up to him and threatened him. While his pregnant wife was there,” I looked at him.
“And that allows him to break the law? You don’t even try to hide your corruption.”
“Let’s go and talk about it in the office,” I said and opened the door for him. Nhil put him in the cell so I could lock him up as Nhil told me the back door needed repair.
“I’ve got you and others saying he killed lawmen,” I said, looking at Nhil.
“He did..him and his gang...Dom, Punk, Serenity, and Atiena or whatever her name is,” Nhil said.
“I’m innocent until proven guilty you dunce.”
“This is not a State of America. You don’t have those rights..this is a territory”.”
“Well Nhil, I might not have murdered those law, but I will murder you.”
I walked back to the door and closed it tight. As I did, Nhil pulled out his gun, aiming it outside, and shouted for me to take cover as Serenity shot both of us down. She came in got the keys from our belt before undoing the lock of the cell and broke the man out.
“Anyone who’s able to use that fancy ticker machine, wanna call out for a good ’old Doc. These towns folk need ’em again!” Serenity shouted then as she helped the man outside. “There any law in town that ain’t wounded as of this moment?”
“I’m just a private, I have one gun..you all have two...really not a matter of your skill,” Nhil shrugged.
We continued to struggle to the clinic and got healed by the doctor who eventually came.
