Bisbee.
This morning I was sitting in front of the office when Thad came over. He said he was looking for his Ranger badge and we talked about the dance last night.
Black Diamond.
Alex and I met with Bill in Diamond and looked for a small house where we could live and be away from work in Bisbee and could have a private place call our home. When the furniture was all moved over from Bisbee, Alex bent down and wept me up in his arms. He looked in my eyes and smiled, carrying me into our new house. We made ourselves comfortable and kissed each other until we realized that we should get to the meeting at Bill and April’s. It felt so good to have a house of our own, that both of us had bought together.
We went to the meeting and had a good discussion about upcoming events and the different areas of the town, including the mines that would be developed. They talked about the old town of Diamond, that was now abandoned, and I mentioned to Alex that we should head there after the meeting.
Old Diamond.
Alex and I rode on Cleetus towards Pearce where we were told that Old Diamond would be on the other side of. “Shall we dismount and walk around?” I asked, smiling at him. We dismounted Cleetus and I said, “That horse has been with me for a long time... Surprised he’s still alive, to be honest.”
“A good horse is important,” he chuckled. He took my hand and we walked down the street.
“Hey there Thad, glad you found us,” Alex greeted him as we saw him riding over.
“Wow these are old buildings...” I said as we explored around.
“Amazing how things don’t rot out here,” Alex said as he walked up the creaky stairs.
We walked around and then I found the old mines. Normally I wouldn’t have explored them but with Alex there I gained more strength so the three of us walked into the mines.
“These tunnels are amazing!” Alex exclaimed as we wandered around.
“Aren’t they? I usually hate mines... But this is actually really cool,” I nodded as we explored.
“It’s okay. We’re with you,” Alex gave my hand a squeeze.
Thad showed us the place where Bill had been kept in the mines and then we went to the sheriff’s office to check it out. We tried out the cell doors and noticed how they didn’t need keys to be opened. We looked in the main room then and saw the six wanted posters hanging.
“That looks like Adrian, doesn’t it? Johnny Ringo,” Thad mentioned.
“Yeah, I talked to Bill about that...” I nodded.
“It does,” Alex agreed.
I blinked, seeing one of the posters and recognizing it. I pulled out my notebook to confirm it and shook my head. “I knew I recognized that name...”
“Which name?” Thad asked.
“Sniper... He hasn’t really been active, at least not that I’ve heard of, since June... But back then he was around Tombstone. He’s with the Wild Bunch gang. Same gang that Lot and D are in... Alex... If Sniper was around back when this Ringo guy was...” I looked at him. “What if...”
We walked outside and looked around more, finding a fully functional saloon with whiskey still good. “This is very odd,” Alex said.
“What if they’re using this place as a hideout?” I looked between Alex and Thad. “The Regulators...”
“It would make sense. These building are in good shape,” Alex nodded.
We explored around a while and then I said, “I think it’s time we head home...”
“Sure, we can go back,” Alex nodded.
We hopped on the horses again and headed home with a lot of information to process and the possibilities for what it could all mean were endless.
