January 21, 1900

Tombstone.

“Hey there Rip,” I smiled, walking over to kate’s where he was sitting this evening.

“Hello Trin.”

“How are things?”

“Same as always, what’s happening?”

“Was just wondering about that myself. Anything new and exciting?”

“Nothing yet today.”

Jewel walked over and greeted two Lilly’s. I looked at them both, realizing how I hadn’t met either of them, and took in their names.

“How’s business, Trin?” Rip asked.

“Slow as molasses,” I looked at him. “If not slower.”

“Well you can try fight me if you want, if you win, you can arrest me, and we make up a story,” he chuckled.

“’Cept I can’t arrest ya,” I laughed.

“Yeah, that’s true.”

“I could detect that you shot me...”

“Anyone can detect being shot, coz that shit hurts.”

“Mmhmm. Just sayin’,ain’t much use for a detective these days.”

“Maybe a change of occupation.”

“Or just addition... Though there ain’t much business as a lawyer these days either. Not a prosecutor anyway.”

“No court for ages it would seem.”

“Nope.”

“Hell, I shot up half the town other night, did my jail time.. end of story.”

“See.... and that’s the problem.”

They started to talk amongst themselves about nothing in particular and I decided to continue wandering the streets, looking for something to do.
