Tombstone.
This morning I walked into town and saw the bank doors wide open. I thought it was interesting and investigated, noting that the main door was wide open but the back and inside doors were still locked securely. There was no law around so I went back to sit in front of the hotel and watched as Mikk and Tina argued back and forth.
“You still wanna shoot the town up?” Mikk asked her.
“No,” she giggled. “I’m good. I work for law, I mean I will, I hope.”
“Well good ‘cause I was just about to whack your brains out,” Mikk said.
“I’m too fast, Mister Mikk,” Tina laughed.
“Ya think?”
“You can’t shoot me. You know that. But okay.”
“Wanna bet?” Mikk asked, hopping off his horse.
I looked over, hearing Mikk. “Really? We’re gonna do this now?”
“Why you backing away Tina?” Mikk asked.
“I’m not.”
“Then come closer.”
“Yea? Why?”
“I wanna show you something.”
“My cane.”
“What cane?” Tina asked.
“I just bought it.”
“Where? Show me.”
Mikk walked closer to Tina and then lifted the cane. “You ready?”
“Yea. I show you too something.”
Tina took out a gun but Mikk drew his cane towards her and hit him in her legs and arms. She fell down hard and I chuckled, watching the fight.
“You happy now?” Mikk asked her, standing over her.
“No, now I will revenge. You will die soon.”
“Mikk, really?” I asked, walking over to them.
“Sure, sure,” Mikk chuckled.
“I promise. I’m not joking this time. You will die fast.”
I wandered into the hotel to get myself some coffee as the two continued to banter in the streets. “Have fun Mikk,” I rolled my eyes eventually and walked over to my office, my patience with Tina wearing thin.
Half an hour later a pebble soared up onto the balcony. I looked down and saw Ali and smiled at her. We talked about how things were going in Black Diamond and I told her that things were going well with me too. She saw a look about me that I had a new beau and I just said that it wasn’t exactly public yet. I told her about what happened with Mikk and Tina.
“Hey Ali... can you do me a favor?” I asked then, growing serious.
“Depends on what you need,” she laughed.
“If you see a guy named Sunset Moon wanderin’ around... let me know?”
“He new in town?”
“I have a feeling there will be trouble brewing when I see him again,” I nodded.
“I ain’t been in town much. But if I come across meeting him or hear his name I will let you know.”
“Thanks, Ali. I think he’s tryin’ to get somethin’ out of me but I ain’t sure.”
A man walked over and introduced himself as Eukaria Karu. He had been gone for a long time but came back divorced and with a daughter who’d rather shoot him than talk to him. I came down to the street and talked with them, as we introduced ourselves. We said hello to Waterfall as she passed by and I went to talk to Mikk.
I told him that if Tina filed a report, I’d do a witness statement and call Mikk’s action self defense. He said she’d been threatening him for days but he thanked me for my support. Tina came over again and they acted civil towards each other.
I headed back to the office and then Richie came over to see me. I jumped when he surprised me and I told him about Sunset. My horse came over and I told him how Keiko had ridden up to my house and claimed me as hers, not the other way around. I told him I was getting some work done with my notebook and he just shook his head at me, though it had been his advice.

I talked with Sirus and Libby in town and we talked about how the bank was left wide open. I complained that I still hadn’t gotten ahold of Chase to give me a statement before court Friday. We talked in front of the hotel and my horse and dog came over to greet me. Jac came over and we talked for a bit alone about how he wanted a dog. I hugged him and headed back to the office to get some more work done.
