August 16, 1900

Tombstone.

This morning I walked towards Kate’s and met a man named Spinny. He said he’d been in town for a few days and that he’d been shot by a stray bullet by a ranger. I walked into the saloon and refilled my whiskey flask and then worked on catching up with my memoirs since nothing seemed to be happening in town currently.

A while later I walked down the street and found a woman in front of the clinic. “I miss something?” I asked her.

“I think I missed something,” the woman looked at me.

I walked into the clinic and greeted Alex from the other day and saw Aly on the bed. “Sheriff, you alright?”

“Hi Blondie. Yes, I have noticed,” Aly smiled at my new hair color. “Define... alrigt.”

“If he’d shot me in the foot, I wouldn’t let him peacefully die like he did,” the woman standing nearby said.

“Thought it was time for a change,” I said.

“I must say though, you got some good aim,” Aly said to the woman.

“Well you’re breathing... That’s a good start. How many bullets in ya?” I asked Aly. “When I want change, I switch shoes,” Aly laughed at me.

“Changing hair color is more fun,” I smirked.

“Well.. I did try to capture him first but you wouldn’t let me,” she said.

“Not for me, if I tried that, it would end up purple or something,” Aly said to me.

“What happened?”

“Ok you were trying to collect a bounty when there wasn’t none, and I was afraid you’d get shot,” Aly said to her and turned to me. “That mean nasty man that locked me up in my cell that one time? He showed up today.”

“Bounty?” I perked then.

“No bounty, that’s the thing,” Aly said.

“Everyone’s afraid I’ll get shot...” the woman rolled her eyes.

“Don’t think we’ve met,” I looked at her.

“I think she’s a bounty hunter or somethin’,” Aly said.

“Good we need more of ‘em,” I smiled widely.

“Well it ain’t a bad thing to be underestimated,” Aly grinned.

“Oh hi, I’m Sara. Nice to meet you,” the woman introduced herself.

“Hi Sara, I’m Detective Trin Paige. Nice to meet you as well. Who shot ya?” I looked at Aly as she tried to stand but then sat back down. “Easy there,” I helped her on the bed.

“That Johnny guy. Or whatever his name is,” Aly said.

“Not him again,” I rolled my eyes and looked over at the man there. “Alex... you spend so much time in the clinic one would think ya were a doctor.”

“Yeah, you’ll be saying that more times now, cause it won’t be him again,” Sara insisted.

“Not no more, Trin. Sara done him in,” Spinny laughed.

“Funny you’d mention that,” Alex laughed. “I recently applied to become an MA.”

“Did you... Congratulations!” I looked over at Aly and said, “Been missin’ ya, Aly.”

“Not sure if I’ve been spendin’ more time in the clinic or at home restin’ from the clinic,” Aly chuckled.

“Gotta stop gettin’ yourself shot, woman.”

“I’m workin’ on that,” she chuckled.

“You’ve always got a bit of lead in ya,” Alex agreed.

“Don’t remind me,” Aly rolled her eyes.

“Well, I’ll be back. I’m going to go grab a smoke in the saloon,” Alex said then.

“Aly, you needin’ my help with anything lately?” I asked her.

“Uhm. I don’t know yet. Not right now. I’m gonna go home and rest these to injuries.”

“Good idea. I’m just lookin’ out for Xav and Ben Cravens... Till then not much I can do.”

“Who and who?” Sara asked.

“Just some names I’m lookin’ into,” I smiled.

“Is there a reward or those two?” Sara asked.

“I think I’ll manage back to Pearce. Might be around later if I’m feelin’ better,” Aly stood then.

I went over to hug Aly and said, “Get better lady. We need to have a few drinks sometime.”

“Dang you know how long it’s been since I had a drink?”

“I don’t just mean alcohol. There are other kinds of drinks. Coffee, even.”

“One of these days it’ll be nice to socialize with y’all somewhere besides the clinic for a change,” Aly giggled.

“Go on, get some rest,” I told Aly and she started to protest but then stopped. “You’ll thank me later.”

Lisa walked in then and I looked between Aly and Lisa, seeing the look the outlaw gave her. I wondered if there was something going on between them but since no one said anything, I headed out of the clinic and wandered back home.
