Black Diamond. 

I walked through town this morning and noticed the group in the clinic, so I went in to find out what had happened. Ger told me that he was checking Stormy’s bandages and that Aly had been shot again by Rikki. 

Going over to Aly’s house, she told me to come in as the door was open so I headed upstairs. She was sitting in her chair by the window and I said, “It’s just me. Heard you’ve had an interesting day. You feelin’ alright?” 

“No, I feel like crap. But that’s fine.” 

“Talk to me.”

“I’m not even sure where to start with all this. I don’t have my guns.” 

“What happened to your guns?” I asked, sitting down on the table and looking at her. 

“Rikki has them. I mean..Jack has them... She took them off me while I was waiting in the clinic for a medic and then gave them as a ‘gift’ to Jack.” 

“I really don’t like that they’re in town more.”

“I arrested him this morning for having his guns out, he was target practicing in town. he didn’t give me problems with the arrest...and it was fine until she showed up, then you get them two together and things go crazy.” 

“So then you got shot? By Rikki?”

“Yeah because I chased her after SHE took her guns out and started shooting at the cans Jack left laying around.” 

“Did you catch her?” I sighed. 

“Nope. She shot me, but she got me into a clinic. By this point we were in Bisbee.” 

“Great, where we have no idea who law is.”

“Ugh. I found ger in town and asked him, he didn’t know either”

“So you have two separate reports to make here then right? Rikki shooting at you, and then Rikki taking your guns in Bisbee. And a third report, for arresting Jack.”

“How can I help?”

“So what I have done so far is the one with Jack by himself this morning... and then the report on the gun incident is done, only I’d like to add a witness statement from Stormy to it.” 

There was a knock on the door then and I asked who it was. When Ger announced himself, he came up to check on Aly. “Right. What statements do you need me to gather, hon?” I asked when Ger had looked at her medically. 

“I need two for Stormy. The one with Rikki AND Jack shooting....I only heard gunfire and didn’t see it, but she saw it. And then the one for my guns, which....I need to put in a report.” 

“I think she just went home... I had to restitch her,” Ger put in. 

“Okay so the first case... Rikki shooting you in Black Diamond. Get statement from Stormy.”

“There were a bunch of people hanging outside the clinic after the incident, but they saw Jack showing off my guns,” Aly said. 

“Second case being Rikki stealing your guns in Bisbee. Do you have a report with the list of witness for that one hon?” I asked. 

She handed me the pile of papers from in her lap and I took a look at them as she said, “If you could just get the one from Stormy and add it, and then give it to whoever.” 

“You just like giving me stuff to do, don’t you?” I winked. 

“Not like I can issue a warrant in Bisbee. Hey, most of that work is already done.” 

“Well it would be good if we can get as many of those people’s accounts as we can... Could help in court if it happens. The marshals etcetera will appreciate it.”

“And Prosecutors,” Ger added. 

“Mmhmm. But the thin with Jack you’re covered, yes?”

“Sure....I can tell ya right now who was there......Sam Grey, Sugar, LiL, uhm, brotherD. Yeah but I have two things with Jack. the first one is done. no warrant or nothing. I need to turn this in the court, bro or whatever. The second, with both of them, there is work to do on it.” 

“I can see what I can do,” I nodded. “Glad to have stuff to do again. Not that I like the cause of it...”

“Seems we’ve been busy lately huh,” she smiled and added “Of course.” 

“I would like to meet with you in the morning sometime tomorrow Trin, when will be good for you?” Ger looked at me. 

“Yes Ger, in the morning should be alright.”

“I want to get things rolling as soon as I can...we have to get this to stop.” 

“Absolutely. We need to get court going as soon as possible. Tomorrow will be a good day to do it.”

“I’m so glad you’re mayor,” Aly smiled. “Especially now with Sasha back.” 

“Thanks sis...but time will tell if everyone will be,” he said. 

“Right I need a statement about that one still and get one from Bree.”

“Everyone won’t...that’s just how things are. Can’t make everyone happy Ger....just about doing the right thing.” 

“Don’t think I’ll be getting much sleep tonight,” I winked at Ger and stood back as Ger started to look at Aly’s wounds, then we headed out. 

I found Stormy in the sheriff’s office and asked her to write out reports about what she witnessed and then headed off to find some others whose statements I needed.
