August 21, 1869

Amiville.

This morning I walked into the saloon and Bravo put his hands around my eyes, whispering, “Guess who.”

“Bill?” I chuckled, reaching up to hold his hands.

“Yeah, it’s Backshot Bill,” he smirked and looked at me.

I turned around and kissed his lips deeply and he kissed me back. “So.... should I get on that there stage, darlin’? It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it,” I winked.

“Ohh yeah,” Bravo smirked.

Nell came in and I greeted her as I went back to change and then went up on the stage, dancing.
“How are ya, Nell?” I asked her.

“I’m decent, and yourself?”

“I’m doing well, hon... very well. Things are much better now that I’ve moved... I feel much safer...”

“I’m happy for you, after all of the awful things happening,” she chuckled.” I’m glad you are safe.”

“It’s about time, right?” I looked over at Bravo and winked.

“Did you turn in your badge?” Nell asked Bravo.

“Just tired,” he sighed.

“Guess that place we stayed at last night wasn’t the greatest huh?” I asked, referring to the hotel in Louisiana where we’d gone for the evening.

“Yeah,” he sighed.

“Was worth going out of town for the night though... Nell, have you heard any more feedback about the paper?”

“No miss I haven’t...Sorry.”

“No problem. Just wondering if anyone had been reading it.”

Bravo threw some coins in my tip jar and I smiled at him. “Thanks darlin... Was missing those 100 coins that I gave to that rat.”

“Rat?” Nell clarified.

“When I found Chels and Kitty in the cave I asked Rat boy to help me, and he said he would if I gave him 100 coins, but then he brought me to the door and bill told him to bring me inside and i found out he was on bill’s side the whole time and didn’t really want to help me.”

“I could probably get those coins back for you,” Nell smirked then bit her lip. “I try to be nice to everyone, and Bill’s my friend.”

“It’s fine, Nell. I’d rather just drop it and let it be.”

Kris came into the saloon and talked with Nell about her and Bill not living together anymore. I continued to dance for Bravo and Nell said she wished she could find a nice single man. We talked about the bachelor’s auction going on and I said that I didn’t need to buy a man since I already had Bravo. James walked into the saloon and I greeted him before going home to run a couple of errands. I came back later that evening and performed on the piano in the saloon.
