Colorado Springs.
This morning I walked towards the sheriff’s office and greeted Chels and Adder who were sitting outside. And talked with Roy. He asked about my new rifle and I told him that I’d needed it since the Cherokee made me their number one enemy. I told them that I was still half-considering moving into a cabin and looked around town.
Georgetown.
This evening I was working on some writing in the saloon and talked with people who joined me. People joined as a girl came to play records on the turn table and Suzy introduced me to her brother, Sylver. It was so good to see Suzy and her brother so happy. I watched as Sylv met Sam and smiled at them, looking to the door and waiting for Tom.
After a while I went to get a drink and watched the others dancing happily. I watched as Sugar and JT danced together and continued to look to the door, waiting for Tom as more and more people came to the dance.
Finally, an hour after things had begun, Tom came into the saloon. “There’s that man of mine!” I smiled widely.
“How are you?” he asked, coming over to where I was and taking me in his arms to dance.
“Thar goes Tom.. you dance good now,” Sugar smiled at him.
“He lives up to his promise,” I winked over at Mimi who winked back.
We danced for a while and enjoyed the music and then Tom and I headed home. I walked upstairs to my apartment with him and kissed him deeply. “I’m glad you were able to make it, darling,” I said and we reclined on the couch, enjoying each other’s company.
